His works recall celluloid inspired art from twentieth century images. These images convey interpretations of twentieth century fashion looks.
His work is reminiscent of Andy Warhol's, yet he goes even deeper with the use of different fabrics, which add texture as well as depth. Using different background shades and solid shapes the paintings convey a nostalgic, yet modern interpretation of classic 1900s looks that are forever embedded in our psyche.
The female sideways fedora look, as if straight out of Casablanca, the puckered lips straight out of the 40s and the full face reminiscent of the 50s. They in turn, give way to the masculine images that recall the latter part of the century. The 60s innocence of a clean face, the full head of hair and tee shirt look of the 70s, to the superhero look of the 80s and early 90s. It's sweeping fashion flashback.
